<p>Adults of <tp:taxon-name><tp:taxon-name-part taxon-name-part-type="genus" reg="Lissomus">Lissomus</tp:taxon-name-part></tp:taxon-name> are generally distinguished from other click beetles by an ovoid and strongly convex body, shining to submetallic integument, deep and oblique antennal fossa nearly reaching procoxal cavity, legs retractile into depressions and excavations, metaventrite with an arcuate carina extending laterally from the mesocoxa, the prosternal process evenly rounded and not carinate or finely sulcate laterally, and tarsi with four large membranous lobes (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B14">Johnson 2021</xref>). <p>Morphological terms and concepts generally follow <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">Calder (1996)</xref>, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B18">Lawrence et al. (2010)</xref> and <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">Costa et al. (2010)</xref>. Measurements were taken with an ocular micrometer at 0.1 mm and 0.01 mm increments between 7–90× magnifications. Body length was measured from the anterior margin of the frons to the elytral apices, and width was measured across the elytral humeri, unless specified otherwise. The ocular index, a ratio of frons width and head width inclusive of the eyes, was calculated to one decimal place. Antennomere length ratios are given as a ratio string. The ratio is calculated for antennomeres 2–11 as measured along the lateral midline from antennomere base to apex at moderate magnifications, and values rounded to one decimal place. Pronotal length is along the midline from anterior margin to the ante-scutellar margin and width is at the widest point at midlength or base of the posterior angles. Tarsomere lengths are measured at medium-high magnifications from base to apex along the dorsum, with values rounded to two decimal places and given as a ratio string.</p>
<p>Dissections were made as needed by soaking each specimen in ammonia for 1.0–2.0 hr, removing the abdomen and extracting genitalic structures. Structures were rinsed in distilled water and treated in room temperature 10% KOH as needed for organ resolution. Abdominal ventrites were neutralized in water and white vinegar, dried, and glued to a small card below the specimen. Dissected genitalia and lightly sclerotized terminal abdominal sclerites were neutralized and preserved in plastic microvials with glycerine and attached below each specimen.</p>

Dates are given in the day-month-year format, with the month converted as needed to lower case Roman type for presentation consistency.</p>

<p>The body is moderate in length, about 6–16 mm; dorsum shallowly to strongly convex, venter shallowly convex. Integument smooth, shining between fine to moderate-sized punctures; each puncture with either a minute seta on pronotal and elytral discs, appearing glabrous, or seta long, thin, hair-like especially venter and lateral areas of pronotum and elytra. Antennal insertion deep, transverse; antennomere 2 subcylindrical, 3 subserrate; 4–10 moderately to strongly serrate, 11 oval to lachrymiform. Hypomeron excavate posteriorly to receive front legs, posterior margin a thin perpendicular lamelliform wall; pronotosternal margin anterior deeply and obliquely fossate to receive antenna. Mesoventrite with deep median fossa, broadly U- to V-shaped, walls planar, to slightly below or slightly elevated to metaventrite; anterior angles formed as crural impressions to receive mesothoracic legs, usually with an arcuate carina from mesocoxal margin directed laterally, reaching partly or completely to lateral margin. Tarsomeres 1–4 with progressively enlarging ventral membranous lobes, rarely with tarsomere one with densely setose ventral pad only. Morphologically the sexes are not distinguishable without examination of genitalia.</p>

The holotype was collected at an elevation of 700 m in a mixed, dense forest along the Alcoa Road leading from the Las Mercedes bauxite mine toward Sierra de Bahoruco National Park (Fig. <xref ref-type="fig" rid="F7">7</xref>). The vegetation at the collection site includes a mix of broadleaf species, that progressively transition from the dry broadleaf forest of lower elevations into the endemic pine (<tp:taxon-name><tp:taxon-name-part taxon-name-part-type="genus" reg="Pinus">Pinus</tp:taxon-name-part> <tp:taxon-name-part taxon-name-part-type="species" reg="occidentalis">occidentalis</tp:taxon-name-part></tp:taxon-name> Sw.
